Circle of security parenting weekend Brisbane Sydney Melbourne

"The Circle of Security is circling the globe as an intervention to help parents raise their children with love, warmth and emotional intelligence." ~ Dr. Dan Siegel, Neuropsychiatrist and co-author of "The Whole Brain Child"

"I attended the Circle of Security Parenting Course when my daughter was 2 months old - it was the single best thing I did as a new parent and has fundamentally altered my approach to Paediatrics also." ~ Dr. Kate Rodwell, Paediatrician and Mother

What does my child need from me?
How can I relate better to my child?
How can I support my child's independence?
Why do some of my child's behaviours affect me so much?
How can I make parenting easier?

The Circle of Security Parent Education Program is an inspiring yet practical course for parents of children aged 0-5 and for professionals working with young families

Course attendees will learn how to identify their children's emotional needs and respond to their behaviours in ways which result in greater resilience, fewer behavioural difficulties, better relationships with family and friends, improved self esteem and enhanced school readiness.

Topics covered include:

Recognising and understanding children’s emotional needs
How to support a child’s independence
How to support a child’s need for closeness and intimacy
How to promote the development of empathy in children
Understanding why sometimes children’s behaviours cause a negative reaction in their parents/carers
How to handle a child’s emotional ‘meltdowns’
What approach to take when children ‘act out’
How this model provides effective discipline

While usually run as an 8 week program, Dr Kaylene Henderson is doing a condensed "weekend workshop" format - rarely offered in Australia, yet perfect for busy parents.

BRISBANE, MELBOURNE, SYDNEY

Who Should Attend:

While this parent education program has been developed for parents of children aged between 0-5, the concepts are still helpful for parents of older children (up to the pre-teen years). Expectant parents and professionals working with young families are also welcome to attend. Whether you're struggling with your parenting role or just wanting tips on how to be the best parent you can be, you will find this course to be invaluable..

Early childhood educators will also find this course to be ideal with this course linking to the National Quality Standards: Quality Areas 5 and 6 and the Early Years Learning Framework: Outcomes 1, 3, 5 and Principles 1, 2 and 4.

(Kindly note that children are unable to attend. Furthermore while most parents would find this course to be very beneficial, if you or your child has had a history of trauma or mental health issues then seeking out individual sessions would be more helpful for you).

Course Inclusions and Cancellation Policy:

Course handouts and writing materials are included in the course fee. A certificate of attendance will be provided upon course completion.

A full refund will be provided if your booking is cancelled more than 21 days prior to your planned commencement date. A $100 cancellation fee will need to be retained if cancellation occurs within 21 days of this date. Please note that if minimum attendee numbers are not met, a full refund will be provided 7 days prior to planned course commencement date.

"This course exceeded my expectations. I am really excited to embrace the next stage in our family life and really start enjoying being with our children"

"Thank you so much. You've truly opened my eyes. I think every parent should attend one."

"This course taught me more than I expected. It has really transformed the way I view my parenting. This has been so helpful - the best education I have accessed since becoming a parent."

"This is such a wonderful program that really takes the guesswork out of parenting. By learning how to respond to our children in the ways taught in this course, we can grow everconfident that we are raising our children to be well-balanced, loving and independent. And best of all, we can teach them how to pass on these qualities to future generations.”
